A simple to program semi-automatic swing chisel mortiser that eliminates the need for manual marking out. Mortising programs are created by entering the component length along with the position,height, length and depth of the mortise slot/s. Creating and inputting a program only takes a couple of minutes with the facility to store and memorise up to 99 different programs. The machine start working cycle is by two hand push button safety control which activates the clamping, table movement and the stop / start of the mortising head. The table movement speed (in / out) can be individually regulated. Thanks to the electronic control and table traverse via precision recirculating ball and screw drive it is possible to acheive a high degree of repeat accuracy in relation to the mortise slot position, length and depth. As standard a total of 12 pre-positioned pneumatically operated workpiece stops are fitted which are automatically activated from the program. The machine is also equipped with a motorised programmable Z axis to set the height of the chisel. With this facility it is possible to make double or off-line mortise slots without having to change chisels or re-program the machine. The benefits of using swing chisel tooling include an extremely clean mortise slot and easier machining of hardwoods.
