AUTOMATIC BARLEYTWIST MACHINE WITH AUTOMATIC INDEXING |
A dedicated heavy duty machine which can be used for all types of straight, tapered or hollow rope barleytwist components. The machine's geared drive allows turning pitches from 18mm to 318mm with simple gear change for right or lefthand rotation. The machine can be fitted with a heavy duty router type cutterhead, an inclined circular disc cutterhead for faster cleaner cutting or a sawblade cutterhead that is able to produce square or hexagonal shaped components. It is possible to easily interchange the cutterheads for different production requirement. The head is positioned pneumatically onto the workpiece and variable depths of cut are achieved by a system of turret stops.The lateral movement of the head is via a high precision re-circulating ball screw drive.
The machine is equipped with electronic programme controlled automatic indexing with up to 16 starts available through 360 degrees. Once the required number of starts has been selected on the PLC control keypad/LED display, the head automatically index's round until the required number of starts have been completed. Also as the head stock has the possibility to start/stop during the cutting operation it is possible to produce components with holes and stop grooves as well as the Barleytwist design. The tool saddle can be programmed to cut in both directions or the forward direction only with the facility to regulate the tool saddle speed thro' an inverter
