Cutting list generation
Cutting lists are generated automatically from the timber frame design software (links in place for all major software houses), and exported to our OptiMaster software where it is matched against stock holding lengths to produced an optimised cutting list. This list is the downloaded via the network to an automatic saw. Integration to the software packages is critical, and to this end we have worked with most of the leading timber frame software packages.
Automatic sawing
The timber is then cut on a fully automatic crosscut saw.
This push fed saw automatically pushes the timber through the saw, positioning and cutting the panel components.
Cut components are then marked by the operator by reference to an outfeed monitor which displays the cut sizes for easy reference.
Alternatively they can marked in line using a modern high specification ink jet printer, which enables a lot of detail to be sprayed onto the timber. In addition this ink jet printer can be used to mark the stud positions on the top and bottom plates.
