| An increasing number of Joinery companies are now using laminated timber sections in the construction of window and door components. One of the main reasons why laminated sections are proving more desirable is that generally they are more stable than a solid timber section, especially over long lengths. Also it can prove more economical to laminate larger sections instead of buying a solid ‘none standard’ section. There is ofcourse also the possibility to utilise waste material or offcuts that can be laminated into reusable lengths. |
 | The Clamp Rack or Panel Clamp from JLT (a division of specialist laminating equipment Manufacturer Taylor) offers the joinery manufacturer a competitively priced clamping system that is specifically designed for solid wood edge and face laminating.
The patented equaliser clamp arms fitted with rocker plates can laminate material up to 100mm or 150mm in thickness depending on the type of clamp. On request larger special clamps can be supplied for material up to 200mm in thickness which are therefore ideal for laminating components say for door rails.
The Clamp Racks are available in two sizes, 2.4m and 3.6m with each frame having 5 gluing levels. As the range of equipment is very versatile it is ideal for producing stair strings and treads, block gluings for turnings and general furniture components such as panels, worktops and table tops. |

For instances were higher volume production is required a Taylor Clamp Carrier would be specified.
Using exactly the same type of clamps as the JLT Clamp Rack but in a moving storage configuration, the Clamp Carrier system is available in a number of different sizes and specifications to suit customers individual production requirements.
It can be supplied in standard, semi automatic or fully automatic format with working widths from 2.5 to 6m.
It is extremely versatile and has gained an excellent reputation for its reliability and build quality. Due to the modular design of the equipment it can be extended or upgraded at any time in the future. Again it can be used to produce either laminated joinery or furniture components. | |

 | For manufacturing window and door frames JJ Smith are able to offer the Stromab ST/H special vertical hydraulic clamp.
As standard it has a 3m x 2m capacity and is fitted with 3 vertical hydraulic cylinders and 2 horizontal hydraulic cylinders with the facility to individually regulate the clamping pressure to each set.
The cylinders have counter balance weights fitted, and the vertical beams are easily positioned along the main frame making set up for different size frames extremely quick and simple.
On request additional beams and clamping cylinders can be fitted or a larger working capacity specified. |
