Integration with Timber frame Design Packages
J J Smith work with all the major timber frame design packages, and import their manufacturing information directly in two ways.

· Into our OptiMaster software that will allows production schedulers to group panels or groups of panels, or even groups of components together from one or more orders.  These can then be pre-optimized and a variety of management information produced.  Optimisation yields can then be compared and the most efficient manufacturing schedule developed, taking into account not just timber yield, but stock and space availability

· Directly into our frame scheduling software.  This software enables operators to schedule the manufacturing according to loading patterns and then download to automated framing and nailing machines.  The software gives the scheduler options to control the way frames are made—for example are sub assemblies made off or in line, and to over-ride nailing patterns if necessary

The emphasis with this approach is the preparation of the work prior to passing to the workshop to allow the manufacturing process itself to be as simple and as straightforward as possible
