Many Joinery companies are now being requested to supply complete door sets, fully finished with hardware fitted, ready to easily be installed on site. While it is possible to produce many of the components on CNC machining centres this sometimes means tying it up when in fact it could be utilised better producing different, more complex components. Also, in some cases having dedicated machines to produce the door sets is quicker than using CNC technology. To this end JJ Smith are able to offer a range of machines dedicated for this type of work that are very competitively priced when compared against more sophisticated equipment.

Centauro CVS
The Centauro CVS 50/60 model is a vertical mortiser that will machine out the slot for the lock and recess for the face plate in one operation on the door blank. Then via the two rear horizontal drill units (one oscillating) it is possible to produce the hole for the handle and the slot for the key. The machine is simple to use and typically the above operations can be completed in as little as 1.5 minutes. The machine is also equipped with a standard rise / fall table and pneumatic workpiece clamp for conventional chain mortising.
Centauro FCA.
The Centauro FCA recess router can easily machine the recesses for the hinges on the doors and frame either via a template or by a set of stops. Both the door and frame are positioned against either a left hand or right hand stop with the hinge positions being set via a series of locking points that the router head locates in. This means both the door and frame hinge points will be accurately machined and the positions exactly match. Also the FCA can be used to machine the recess for espangalate locking systems as well as other general routing operations on the edge of the door or frame. The Centauro CVS 50/60 and FCA can either be purchased from JJ Smith either separately or as a pair.
