Component Machining
Comec MD |
JJ Smith are pleased to announce the introduction of a new range of competitively priced CNC component machining centres manufactured by the Comec Group.
The machines are ideal for the automatic boring, mortising and milling of a wide variety of components for chairs, beds, tables, garden furniture and general joinery.
The MD 'Basic' is equipped with two CNC controlled horizontal electro spindles, the MD 'Classic' has two horizontal and one vertical spindle while the MD 'Plus' has an additional vertical spindle with drilling group and full interpolation of the axis as standard. Either a 2200mm or 3000mm X axis capacity can be specified. All machines incorporate the extremely simple user friendly programming interface with electronic templates and touch screen graphic controller enabling programs to be created in only a few minutes.
All movements are on precision linear slideways with positioning speeds of up to 50 m/min. Thanks to the dual pneumatic clamping arrangements and double automatic sliding safety guards, tandem loading of each side of the worktable is possible thus maximising production output. As standard all models are equipped with a waste removal conveyor belt.
Comec also offer customers the opportunity to customise machines to their own specific requirements for instance fitting an automatic hopper feed or a special clamping arrangement. |
Balestrini Viva 5-Axis CNC
A 5-axis CNC Machining Centre conceived to tenon, cut-off, drill, slot and mill elongated solid wood parts.
It is a multi-spindle machine (with two, three, or four spindles, according to customer needs) which moves about two axes; at the same time, in front of the operating head, a bench with three interchangeable axes presents the operating unit with a part for machining. Therefore, there are a total of FIVE interchangeable axes on Viva!
The main features of this new workstation are:
- The ability to machine identical, symmetrical or completely different parts
- High productivity, such as to bring together the necessary machines (tenoners/mortisers, etc.) at a speed of up to 100m/min and an acceleration of up to 1 G!
- Extra-fast calibration
- The opportunity of loading and unloading parts manually, if necessary. This is very useful when calibrating the machine or working a limited series of items.
Once a part has been machined, the rotating workbench turns upside down and the finished part is unloaded. At the same time, a new part is brought up to the head.
The X-axis transversal-moving trolley, carrying the A-axis rotating workbench, moves also longitudinally on Y-axis thanks to sliding guides assembled on the base of the machine. Also the upright mobile holding the operating unit (working head) is fixed on the base and it allows both working head movements in vertical along Z-axis and the rotation around B-axis.
The combined movements of all above axes perform the interpolations required for machining.
Sliding is controlled by reliable SCHNEIDER / NUM "brushless" motors, by means of high precision ball screws, and occurs on BOSCH / REXROTH guides and sliding blocks.
