Model T5E		The T4 1600 and T5 1600 models of hydraulic copy lathe have probably been two of the most popular sold in the UK and Ireland to date and are ideal for the production of a variety of furniture and joinery components such as chair legs, stair spindles and newel posts.

The T4 incorporates a single sensitive copy unit and gouge that follows a sample or template while the T5 has two independent copy units and gouges, one for roughing and one for finishing, that also follow a sample or template. In addition the T5 has a larger capacity of up to 178mm square.

The T5E and T7E 2m models have the facility to program and memorise the tool saddle feed speed. When there is a requirement for twisting or fluting an FC 1600 or 2000 lathe can be specified. This is equipped with a single gouge copy unit along with a router unit that when fitted can produce a barley twist or fluted design on the turned component.
The TA Winner range of machines all have twin gouge copy units, programmable tool saddle speeds, hydraulic self centering system and the option of a fully automatic hopper feed.

The TA/F is a fully programmable combined machine that allows for a component to first be turned and then immediately twisted or fluted without the need for re-setting (subject to design and size of component).

Model T90 CNC		 The top of the range T90 CNC lathe has proved extremely popular in recent years due to its simple programming, versatility and flexibility. This is due to the fact no sample or template is required thus meaning set up times are very short making it ideal for short batch production runs and one off specials.

For longer production runs an automatic hopper feed can be specified. Profiles to be turned are easily and quickly created on the CT CAD software that is supplied as standard.
Also, as the movement of the tool saddle is CNC controlled it is possible to achieve excellent quality and definition of the turned component. The machine can be supplied with either a 1600, 2000 or 3000mm working capacity.
To work inconjunction with Centauro lathes JJ Smith can also offer a range of single and multi spindle sanding machines from Macchia along with dedicated heavy duty barley twist fluting machines. In some cases when barley twisting or fluting of the turned component is required, it can be advantageous to have separate dedicated machines instead of a single combined machine. In this case the lathe is always set up for the turning while twisting of fluting is done on the Macchia machine.
