We have a dedicated technical support department consisting of service, telephone support desk, spare parts and tooling.
The service team consists of twelve technicians who cover the whole of the UK, Ireland and Europe with an average of over 25 years experience in the installation, maintenance and fault finding on a wide range of woodworking machinery.
Our dedicated telephone support desk provides assistance in diagnosing hardware and software issues for the main line new machinery we supply.
Dave joined the company in 1979 as an apprentice engineer where he then went on to become a service engineer. His current role is operations manager where he provides IT & technical support for customers and JJ Smith.
Jane began working for the company in 1979 as the company’s service manager. Jane is responsible for the day to day co-ordination of the company’s engineers and providing customer care and support.
Alan is Customer Support Manager for MBA and JJ Smith projects. His role to is support customers who have complex needs and reasons to contact JJ Smith after the sale has been completed.
Stuart joined us in September 2021 as an apprentice spare parts coordinator and has recently moved to a new role in Technical Support, providing internal and external technical support in the UK and overseas.
A valued member of the JJ Smith team since October 1991, Pauline serves as our receptionist at our Kirkby headquarters. Beyond her role at reception, she assists the Tech Support team and takes charge of coordinating travel arrangements for our engineers, both within the UK and overseas.
Alongside our service arm we have a spare parts and tooling service, carrying a comprehensive range of in stock consumable items and main line spare parts for many of the new machine ranges we supply.
We also offer a wide range of standard tooling such as sawblades, hollow / swing chisels, slot mortise cutters, TCT disposable tips along with specialist purpose made window / door tooling.

Kevin joined JJ Smith in 1984 providing tooling & spares solutions to our customers. Kevin has large network of suppliers for both spares & tooling.
Joining the company in January 2023, Steve brings a wealth of sales and departmental management expertise to the JJ Smith Spares and Tooling team, helping to drive sales and deliver excellent customer service.
Carol joined JJ Smith in 2007 and is now Operation Administrator providing support to the tooling & spares department.
