We operate from a 3,750m2 [ 40,000ft2 ] premises on the outskirts of Liverpool with easy access to the motorway network and Liverpool / Manchester airports. Extensive showroom facilities offer a permanent demonstration area for a wide range of new machinery from standard planers and spindle moulders upto and including automatic crosscuts, cnc mortisers, panelsaws and equipment for timber frame housing. In addition we are also able to offer solutions for specialist / bespoke applications, and a range of equipment for plastic and aluminium machining.
Our used machinery warehouse and showroom encompasses a wide variety of equipment for the panel and solid wood industry from the world's leading manufacturers. We are also widely accepted as a major exporter of used equipment and have completed sales / projects for the supply and installation of machinery on a worldwide basis.

Meet Our Staff
Martin qualified as a Chartered Accountant, and joined JJ Smith in 1984 to become Financial Director. Having been made Managing Director in 1992, he now specialises in Crosscutting and Timber Frame machinery, where he is recognised as a leading figure in the industry. In addition he to his work with UK customers, Martin is also responsible for sales and marketing of Modular Building Automation - MBA which offers timber frame equipment around the world.
Having worked for over 40 years in the company John has developed an unrivalled network of worldwide partners and dealers for used machinery. This means he has access to the supply of, and markets for good quality used woodworking machinery. A 3rd generation family member, who is responsible for purchasing and UK / worldwide sales for used equipment, John has his finger on the pulse of the used machinery industry - if he cannot find the right machine at the right price then no-one can!
Also a 3rd generation family member with 38 years service, Guy is a qualified engineer, who ran the workshop, before moving into Sales. His in depth experience in his specialist areas of turning, solid wood laminating, solid wood furniture and general joinery make him the person to speak to for advice on the correct machine to specify in these important areas of the industry.
Paul, who has worked for the company for 30 years, is the specialist for the cnc through feed door processing and frame production lines . Using knowledge that can be transferred from this industry and all aspects of joinery manufacturing , he is increasingly involved in providing waste solutions to companies outside our traditional sector.
In common with the company's philosophy of specialisation, Kevin has focussed on the crosscutting and mitre work. He has recently led the company into the area of Aluminium processing machinery. Having worked for JJ Smith for over 40 years, Kevin is well placed to advise companies on the improving productivity in this often neglected area.
Ian, a 4th generation family member has worked for the company for 15 years, and joined the machinery sales team in January 2014. He is also a qualified engineer having previously worked as a service technician installing and maintaining new and used equipment.
