Designed and manufactured by bandsawing specialist MZ Project, the HOPPER CNC machine is available with three different cutting lengths of 1300, 2000 and 2500mm. As a result the machine has the facility to work with large panels of various dimensions, but also with smaller panels which can be loaded in two working stations thus maximising production output. Components that can be cut on this machine include upholstered chair and suite frames and general firniture parts. In addition thanks to the pneumatic grippers, and cutting height of up to 100mm several boards high can be clamped and cut. This model of machine is ideal for cutting a wide range of material such as solid wood laminated panels, chipboard, OSB, plywood, hardboard, MDF, fibreboard and other types of composite. No templates or jigs are needed, instead all that is required is a DXF drawing which is imported directly into the IMAGO software. From here the software will do the rest and process the essential component details to make the program for the NC control, with the ability to make speed calculation, nesting programs and also simulation machining. All drives and control systems are manufactured by the world leading Fanuc Organisation whose components have a reputation for giving the highest level of accuracy and also reliability. In addition all main axis movements are on precision linear slides and bearings. All CNC models have a blade rotation of +/- 90 degrees enabling even the most complicated shapes to be cut. As result of all these features the HOPPER offers a high level of production output, coupled with quick set up times, better utilisation of the material / panels, better cutting accuracy and improved operator safety. On request it can even be supplied with a vertical CNC controlled drilling block, making this machine more than a match when comparing against a conventional nesting CNC which will have slower cutting speeds and greater wastage of the material as a circular router cutter is used instead of a bandsaw blade.
